A Night In Bethlehem
For our Branch Christmas Party we had "A Night In Bethlehem". It was Terrific! Our chapel/activity hall was decorated to be an open market in Bethlehem. There were booths to purchase fruit, cheeses, breads, desserts and even a bishops winery. Everyone entered the city at the same time by way of the tax collector who accepted canned food or a new toy as the tax for your family. Then after signing the census you were given money to purchase your food. Everyone sat on blankets in the middle. After the meal there was a nativity program interspersed with everyone singing Christmas hymns. We all went dressed in clothing that may have resembled that worn at the time of Christ. Trisch was on the committee for the activity and really had a great time planning and preparing for the event.
