Backpacking with Josh to Tenas Lakes

Josh has been looking forward to his own backpack trip with mom and dad all summer. We finally found time last weekend to make a quick trip up into the mountains. The weather and scenery were spectacular. September is most definitely the best time for backpacking! If anything due to the lack of mosquito swarms that would normally carry you away in the early spring. We hiked in about 2.5 miles to a little set of lakes (Tenas Lakes).

Here is a photo of Josh two years ago in September 2007. Eric, Josh and Grandpa Liddell tried to make it to Tenas lakes but Josh didn't quite have the legs to make it. Josh with his amazing memory remembered the same rock he sat on for the photo and wanted to get another this year.
