Let It Rain - Let It Hail - Let It Snow

Last weekend we headed north for our first camping trip of the season. This first picture of North End Lighthouse does not paint a true picture of the diverse weather conditions we experienced on our trip. We left our home early Thursday morning in a snowstorm or shall I say blizzard. We did experience a few sun breaks in Portland but for the next two days on the Oregon coast we had almost every type of weather imaginable. It was not your typical warm sunny spring break on the beach but we did have a really good time. We stayed in a yurt at Fort Stevens state park. There are a few photos of the yurt below but basically they are round canvas tents with electricity and (not quite enough) heat. Great for the coast as it does tend to rain quite frequently. We spent time exploring the old batteries and barracks at Fort Stevens, playing briefly on the beach and taking in some of the touristy stuff in and around Astoria. It was fun and a recommended trip for anyone!
